Jasper.ai

Simply looking through some of their legal info pages makes it an obvious choice to steer clear, if the price point didn't already. The free trial was fairly unimpressive back when I tried it and I doubt its improved much since.

From their terms & conditions (https://legal.jasper.ai/#terms) On content ownership: "By submitting, posting, displaying, providing, or otherwise making available any Customer Content on or through the Services, you expressly grant, and you represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to grant, to Jasper a royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, list information regarding, edit, translate, distribute, syndicate, publicly perform, publicly display, and make derivative works of all such Customer Content and your name, voice, and/or likeness as contained in your Customer Content, in whole or in part, and in any form, media or technology, whether now known or hereafter developed, for use in connection with the Services and Jasper’s (and its successors’ and affiliates’) business, including without limitation in connection with modifying, improving, and enhancing artificial intelligence models, as well as promoting and redistributing part or all of the Services (and derivative works thereof) in any media formats and through any media channels."

A lot of their legal/data pages read like they were written by their AI. Very few give proper information. (See Fair Use Policy that isn't a policy outline and says nothing of substance: https://help.jasper.ai/article/269-fair-use-policy)

From the Pricing page (https://www.jasper.ai/pricing): "What does Jasper do with my data? Jasper employs robust access controls across accounts, and no user outside your workspace will have access to your data. The Jasper service has been tested and audited by independent 3rd parties to verify that these protections are in place, and properly protect your data. Jasper will never share your data outside our list of trusted partners that help us provide theJasper service. We are transparent about all the sub-processors we use. You can find a list of the sub-processors we use at https://www.jasper.ai/legal/sub-processors." (Note that this doesn't say what THEY do with your data. At all. But they put it as their front-and-center answer. The sub-processor page shows they have only one sub-processor for Privacy. Along with fourteen for marketing & analytics.)
