What is Contours?
Contours is a Ski, Snowboard, Backcountry and Touring tool to discover mountain locations and inspiration for new adventures and to let you track and log your adventures with your phone's inbuilt GPS and camera.
Quick and easy access to Avalanche Bulletins: Avalanche bulletins will automatically be retrieved for the local area your in and you can save your favourite avalanche bulletins for 1 click access on the home screen.
3D Maps: Gain a better understanding of your surroundings with the use of 3D Maps
Map Layers: View slope angle, aspects, elevation and avalanche start zones with map overlays to help you plan your adventure
Offline Maps: Download map regions for offline use to ensure reliable navigation even without cell service. Save your favourite areas locally on your device to access topographic data, slope information, and route details when you're in remote mountain locations.
Route Planning: Plan your routes and get estimated duration and distance as well as elevation profiles so you know how much elevation gain to expect
Adventure Tracking: With GPS-enabled tracking, you can track and save your day's activities on the snow and then review stats such as distance, total elevation gain, maximum/minimum elevations and speed.
Discover: The Discover section allows you to view uploaded community photos of mountains in local areas for you to plan your days in the mountains. If you know of an area and have photos of mountains to share, you can upload these for others in the mountain community to discover.
Save photos and activities: Save discovered locations, photos, and activities where you can easily see them at a later date. We see this as a way to build a scrapbook of future adventures and then be able to review these saved items for planning with more detailed information.
