What is ContactTool?
ContactTool is a Chrome extension designed to help job seekers avoid duplicate job applications and keep track of company outreach across multiple platforms. A mini CRM of sorts.
Users can select a company name or any unique identifier directly on a webpage and create a timestamped entry with an optional note. The next time that same text is selected, ContactTool displays an information bubble showing when it was previously saved and any associated notes.
This allows users to quickly answer the question: “When did I last contact or apply to this company?”
Unlike job-site-specific trackers, ContactTool works on any standard HTML webpage, including LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, and other career platforms. It does not operate on PDF documents.
ContactTool stores and surfaces lightweight reference data, date-stamp and note, directly within the browsing experience, reducing the need for app/context switches, external spreadsheets or manual tracking system or doing yet another search in your Mail..
