Computer Code Originality Checker is a Source Code Plagiarism Detection Tool – in other words, it is a tool that checks how similar two programming codes are. Such a tool is exceptionally useful at programming classes as it is able to determine whether any student submission was copied from another one.

What programming languages does Computer Code Originality Checker support? Computer Code Originality Checker can currently analyze code written in solely Python programming language (both versions 2.x and 3.x).

What kind of plagiarism does it work with and what kind of files can be checked? Computer Code Originality Checker does not compare code to the Internet: it is designed to find similarities among the submitted students' solutions.

Depending on your needs, you can choose one of the following options:

upload two separate files from the internal drive to perform file vs file check; upload an archive with multiple files. The requirements for both separate and compressed files format are the following:

extension .py; encoding UTF-8; size not greater than 40 kb. An archive file (.zip extension is only supported) can be composed of up to 10 files with source code and should not contain extra folders or files of other formats. The size of each file should not be greater than 40 kb.

Note that the processing of the archives is time-consuming and can take 5-10 minutes, depending on the size and the number of the files.
