Code along means to be able to observe someone doing the actual coding, hearing their thought process, and optionally follow along.

This is different from most video tutorials because nothing is orchestrated or skipped. If the instructor runs into a difficult problem then he / she solves it right there and then in the video.

This means the instructor has to be able to think on their feet and pull from their experience to solve the problem at hand.

This can be a great way to learn web development, or any new technology. Watch a series of videos that show you how break down and solve problems.
