It is a Google maps like application which uses Wikidata (Wikipedia database) to populate over 50 million area entities, markers and media files (images, videos, podcasts, ...) from other sources (Wikisource, Reddit, Youtube etc.) and cross-references related entities together.
The best thing is that like Wikipedia everything is built to be curated (add/ edit/ delete/ vote) by the users of the app. So if you see any mistakes, it is quite easy to fix them (and there is still a lot of data to be fixed).
