What is Cable High Voltage?

Cable High Voltage software is ideal for calculating accurate cable ratings in custom arrangements for your site-specific conditions. The software complies with Standard IEC Standards 60287 and 60853.

The software offers various installation methods that include In Air and Groups in Air, Bonding Arrangements, Direct Buried or In Ducts and Buried in Thermal Backfill. There are add on modules that extend the capability. The add on modules are Emergency and Cyclic Ratings, Short-circuit Ratings, Magnetic Fields, Multiple Crossings, Unfilled Troughs and Randomly filled cable trays.

The Cable High Voltage software has a Finite Element Method Module which is the most accurate for cable current rating calculations.

Capabilities beyond IEC60287- Any combination of direct buried, multiple backfills, filled troughs, and multiple cable circuits are among the installation methods that get modelled in FEM.

Accurate buried cable ratings- The IEC standards assume an isothermal (ideal) ground surface, whereas FEM takes convection into account. It results in precise ratings.

Multiple backfills- Model areas with varied thermal resistivity like multiple backfills or soil zones with varying thermal resistivity.

Automatic meshing- For high-accuracy node temperature calculations, the FEM algorithm automatically meshes the environment. And for all cable components.

The CHV software brings advanced reporting. These reports are easy to understand. Create PDF reports, get detailed results, add your company logo, and the reports can get generated directly into Microsoft Excel files. Cable HV Software is available in two packages, with perpetual or leased licences.

The licenses of the CHV software are Cable HV (Standard), Cable HV (Professional), and there is Power Bundle also.
