Comments and Reviews
This is NOT a malware or antivirus application. It is a list based IP blocking software. It is a rebranded version of PeerBlock, a freeware program. Don't believe me? Install PeerBlock then try to install Bot Revolt. It says "Install has detected that Bot Revolt is currently running." In other words, already installed... as the FREE program PeerBlock.
And this is bad because...?
The company promotes it as a supplement to malware and antivirus. It isn't. At all. It blocks malicious websites, sure, but it does absolutely nothing to block a bot communicating with other bots on a botnet. That's borderline false advertising. Also, the public license for PeerBlock specifically says that any rebranding or program using PeerBlock must reference that it does. No where on the Bot Revolt website, or in the program, does it say that it does. Illegal usually equals bad... sometimes. Other than that, you don't think charging for a free program is unethically bad? Seriously?
How is this different than Peerblock?
I might consider getting the pro version
