The Bid-O-Matic project looks dead. Connection to eBay fails, no more activity on GitHub site since a year We will regret this app

What is Bid-O-Matic?

Bid-O-Matic or Biet-O-Matic (BOM) is an Open-Source desktop tool that allows for observing auctions and placing automated, scheduled bids on online auctions such as Ebay. The tool supports last-minute bids ('bid sniping') and includes timing techniques to avoid issues on slow (modem) connections. It further supports for remote control of bidding via Email. While originally developed by German Joachim Schlesmann the user interface is now available in seven languages (Dutch, English, German, Italian, Spanish, French Hungarian) and hosted on Sourceforge. The tool includes settings for most international Ebay servers. However, the official homepage and the user forums are still mostly in German language.

Please note that last-minute bidding ('bid sniping') is forbidden by some auction services (e.g. Ebay Germany) in its terms of service. For more information see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auction_sniping.
