Adobe PDF documents use two types of password protection:

• Permissions Password (Owner Password) – Restricts document actions but allows opening and viewing.
• Open Password (User Password) – Blocks access entirely unless the correct password is entered.

Accent PDF Password Recovery supports both protections but uses different methods for each:

• Permissions Password is removed instantly upon opening the file. The program creates an unprotected copy of the document for all PDF versions.
• Open Password cannot be instantly removed. It must be recovered by systematically testing possible passwords. AccentPPR maximizes your PC's performance to find it as quickly as possible.

Once a document is loaded, the program detects its protection type and offers three attack options:

1. Brute-force attack – Tries all possible passwords within a defined range.
2. Mask attack – Narrows the search by specifying known character positions.
3. Dictionary attack – Tests passwords from up to four customizable dictionaries.

Choose an attack, adjust settings, and start the search. AccentPPR will test all possible options and display the recovered Open Password when found.
