KaOS ISO drops systemd-boot for Limine, ships Niri/Noctalia desktop
KaOS's latest ISO removes systemd-boot and mkinitcpio, adopting Dracut for initramfs and Limine as the default bootloader, marking a substantial backend transition. The release replaces the traditional Plasma/Kwin desktop with Niri and Noctalia, maintaining a Qt-focused and GTK-free system setup. The installer Calamares is now fully compatible with pure Wayland and expands automated partitioning support for popular filesystems.
