Manus introduces My Computer for local AI tast execution and automation on macOS & Windows

Manus, previously a cloud-based autonomous AI agent, is now available as a desktop application for both macOS and Windows. This transition enables Manus to interact directly with users' local files, software tools, and system resources.

With the introduction of the My Computer, Manus can execute command line instructions through the local terminal. This allows the agent to read, analyze, and modify files on the user's machine while also launching and controlling local applications. Developers especially benefit, as Manus now leverages local programming environments and command line tools such as Python, Node.js, Swift, and Xcode, automating tasks across the entire development workflow, from writing code to debugging.

Following the expansion of local capabilities, Manus can also tap into attached GPUs, enabling the training of machine learning models or running large language model inference directly on user hardware. This makes it possible to turn a Mac mini or a similar device into a dedicated, always-available AI assistant.

To maintain user control and security, every terminal command requires explicit approval. Users can choose to allow commands either individually or set trusted operations to execute automatically. My Computer is now available for all macOS and Windows users.

The Agent seems to still be on the cloud so it's more like "local files editing and other task execution", than "local ai task execution"
