Infuse 8.4 introduces extras, intro skipping, home screen favorites, and improved playback

Infuse 8.4 is now available across the entire Apple ecosystem, with dedicated versions for Mac, iOS, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro. This release introduces expanded support for browsing and viewing a wide variety of local extras for movies and TV shows. Users can now access deleted scenes, featurettes, shorts, trailers, and more, sourced not just from Emby, Jellyfin, and Plex but also from directly connected folders, network shares, and cloud services. These extras are integrated directly into the title details page for seamless discovery within the app.

Alongside enhanced extras handling, Infuse 8.4 debuts skip features for intros, credits, and recaps. These are powered by community-driven databases IntroDB and TheIntroDB, providing options to skip on all share types, either automatically or manually, which benefits viewers during extended binge-watching sessions.

Following these feature updates, users now have the ability to pin favorite folders and library categories to the home screen on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Vision Pro. Previously only available on Apple TV, this convenience improves navigation and speed across more devices. Infuse’s playback core has also been upgraded with comprehensive optimizations, bug fixes, and the addition of initial VVC (H.266) codec support. In addition, further minor enhancements and fixes are included throughout the application.
