Google Translate's real-time headphone translation feature expands to iOS & more countries
Google Translate’s live translate feature with headphones is now officially available for iOS users. This rollout brings parity to Apple device owners, who can now access real-time language translation through their headphones, joining Android users in utilizing this functionality.
Alongside the iOS launch, Google is expanding live translate access on both iOS and Android platforms to more regions. The feature now supports users in France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Thailand, and the United Kingdom, broadening global accessibility.
Live translate allows users to understand and communicate in over 70 languages through any connected headphones. This feature can be particularly useful when traveling, as it assists with interpreting recommendations, listening to public transportation announcements, and engaging with local speakers.
To use live translate, users need to open the Google Translate app, tap on “Live translate”, and connect their headphones. According to Google, the feature preserves not just the words but also the speaker’s original tone and cadence, enhancing the overall listening experience for users seeking authentic interactions.
