Google Search Live expands globally with real-time answers in over 200 countries
Google has announced a worldwide expansion of Search Live, making the feature available in all languages and regions where AI Mode is active. Users in over 200 countries and territories can now engage in interactive conversations with Search, employing both voice and camera for their queries.
This global rollout leverages the new Gemini 3.1 Flash Live audio and voice model. The upgrade enables more natural and intuitive interactions, and its inherently multilingual design allows people to speak with Search in their preferred language.
Individuals can launch Search Live by opening the Google app on Android or iOS, then tapping the Live icon beneath the search bar. Users can ask questions out loud, receive audio responses, follow up with additional queries, and browse related web links without needing to type.
While engaging with Search Live, the option to activate the device camera adds a visual context to a query. Search can analyze what the camera sees, providing tailored suggestions and offering links for further online reading. For those using Google Lens, simply tapping the Live option introduces real-time, back-and-forth conversation features, allowing direct interaction based on physical surroundings. Search Live is especially useful in scenarios where immediate help is needed and typing is not practical.
