Google rolls out Canvas in AI Mode for U.S. users, with creative writing and coding tasks
Google has made Canvas in AI Mode available to all users in the United States using English, providing a dynamic workspace for organizing plans and projects over time. This release introduces an expanded set of capabilities, allowing users to engage in creative writing and coding tasks. Documents can be drafted and custom interactive tools can be built directly within Google Search.
Following this update, users can select the Canvas option in AI Mode, describe the desired tool or dashboard, and receive a functional prototype. This prototype leverages up-to-date information from the web and Google's Knowledge Graph, integrating relevant data for immediate context. Additionally, prototypes can be tested within the same space, the underlying code can be toggled for viewing, and further refinements can be made through conversational follow-ups until the tool fits the intended use.
These changes enable a flexible environment for a wide range of projects. Whether building custom tools, preparing for exams, or planning trips, users can quickly begin work and tailor solutions to their needs using the new features of Canvas in AI Mode.
