Glaxnimate 0.6.0 enhances KDE integration, timeline tools, bezier editing, and SVG export
Glaxnimate 0.6.0 has arrived as a major update for the open-source vector animation desktop application, featuring substantial platform and usability enhancements. By leveraging KDE infrastructure, Glaxnimate can now build and deploy packages more efficiently, making the software available on the Microsoft Store and delivering macOS builds for both Intel and ARM architectures.
Alongside this expanded availability, Glaxnimate now integrates KDE’s file recovery system for improved reliability. Settings and styles also use KDE's systems, granting users more interface color themes and configuration capabilities. Additionally, the software now supports an increased number of languages, jumping from 8 to 26, which greatly broadens usability for a global audience.
Following these changes, the script console gains basic autocompletion to streamline scripting tasks. Timeline enhancements include scrolling improvements, newly added buttons for easier keyframe navigation and editing, and integration of layer visibility toggling with the undo and redo system. Users can also quickly toggle keyframe easing with an Alt-click gesture. SVG workflows have been refreshed, with revised import and export, support for precompositions, and the option to export animations as sequences of SVG frames. Further updates include bezier tool improvements and a new Reverse path action for all shapes. Numerous bugs from the previous release have also been resolved.
