Crunchyroll raises prices for all plans in the US right after killing its free tier

Crunchyroll has announced an upcoming price increase for its Fan, Mega Fan, and Ultimate Fan membership tiers in the United States. Starting February 2, 2026, existing monthly subscribers can expect to see the Fan tier rise from $7.99 to $9.99 per month, Mega Fan from $11.99 to $13.99, and Ultimate Fan from $15.99 to $17.99. These new prices will take effect on each subscriber’s next billing date after March 4, 2026.

In response to these changes, Crunchyroll is offering a limited-time opportunity for members to upgrade to the Fan annual plan for $66.99 a year, which reduces the effective monthly cost to $5.58 compared to monthly billing. This adjustment marks the first price increase for the Fan tier in the U.S. since 2019, highlighting a relatively long period of price stability for these subscribers.

Following the discontinuation of its free, ad-supported plan just a month prior, this price revision signals Crunchyroll’s continued shift toward a fully paid model. Across the entertainment industry, regular price hikes have become a regular habit, with many streaming platforms making similar adjustments.
