Home Assistant 2026.1 brings home dashboard improvements & more purpose-specific triggers
Home Assistant 2026.1 is now available as the latest version of the free, open source home automation platform. A notable focus of this update is the evolving Home dashboard, especially for mobile users. The dashboard now features summary cards for lights, climate, security, media players, weather, and energy at the top. This replaces the previous tab-based navigation, allowing users to access essential device categories, favorites, and areas without extra taps. Additionally, a new Devices page simplifies management by displaying all devices not yet assigned to any area directly on the dashboard.
Besides these interface upgrades, the settings page now places open protocols such as Zigbee and Z-Wave directly after the core settings. This organizational change speeds up access to protocol options and device configurations. Concurrently, automation workflows benefit from an expanded set of trigger types, building on the purpose-specific triggers and conditions introduced in the prior release. This enhancement offers more flexibility for automation enthusiasts.
In addition to UI and automation changes, this release adds eight new integrations, introduces one new virtual integration, and provides a collection of improvements and bug fixes across the platform.
