Bluefin LTS and GDX available with CentOS Stream 10 base & AI tools for this Linux distro

Universal Blue has released Bluefin LTS and Bluefin GDX to general availability following nine months of development. Both offerings target distinct professional audiences while sharing a common foundation.

For users preferring stability, Bluefin LTS is aimed at those who want a modern desktop with a slower release cadence and extended support of three to five years. This release brings first-class support for Flathub applications via Bazaar, integration with Homebrew, ZFS, and additional tools. Bluefin LTS uses CentOS Stream 10 and the Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (EPEL) repository, and features a backported GNOME 48 desktop. There is support for ARM-based images, with the Linux 6.12 kernel included and Linux 6.15.9 available as an option.

Focusing on artificial intelligence and development workflows, Bluefin GDX combines the reliability of Bluefin LTS with enhancements for machine learning professionals. Bluefin GDX ships with NVIDIA CUDA and developer integrations for Visual Studio Code. Secure boot operates out of the box, while Ramalama enables local management and serving of AI models. For Python environments, the distribution pre-installs uv for streamlined package management.

With this major update, Universal Blue now offers Bluefin, Bluefin GTS, Bluefin LTS, and Bluefin GDX, providing a wider choice to meet every user's needs.
