WooCommerce 10.0 adds accessibility improvements, shareable checkout links, and more

WooCommerce 10.0 has been released as the latest update to the open-source ecommerce extension for WordPress, delivering several upgrades aimed at both store owners and shoppers. Most notably, the platform now meets Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 level AA compliance and is substantially conformant with AAA guidelines when used with core or accessibility-ready WordPress themes. These changes introduce a complete semantic markup overhaul for better compatibility with screen readers, enhanced form feedback with robust error messaging, and improved keyboard navigation across shopping, gallery, and checkout flows.

Following these accessibility improvements, merchants can now generate custom cart links that automatically add selected products and specific variations, sending customers straight to checkout. This feature can simplify the creation of ready-to-buy bundles shared via emails or social media.

In addition to usability enhancements, WooCommerce 10.0 addresses long-standing challenges in coupon administration, refining both configuration and discount calculations for restricted coupons. Bulk management gains new flexibility, as the CSV importer now accurately preserves HTML-based formatting, such as tables and bold text, while maintaining import security. The release also introduces various additional beta features, improvements, and bug fixes to improve overall stability.
