Note-taking app SideNotes 1.5 improves Markdown editor and refreshes user interface

Apptorium has launched SideNotes 1.5 for iOS and macOS, bringing several enhancements focused on editing and usability. The standout change is a redesigned text editor that keeps Markdown formatting under the hood and out of sight, reducing visual clutter for most users. For those preferring to see explicit Markdown, an option is provided in the settings to restore the visible markup. While macOS users benefit from this new editor, SideNotes Mobile continues using the previous version until further development is complete.

Following the editor improvements, users can now quickly add or modify hyperlinks by pressing ⌘K, streamlining the process of managing linked content within notes. These workflow enhancements are paired with refinements in the user interface. All icons across the app have been updated, including a refreshed app icon that now matches the look and feel of SideNotes Mobile. In addition, application menus now include icons, preparing the app for upcoming macOS design standards.

SideNotes 1.5 requires macOS 13 or later, marking a shift in system compatibility for users considering an upgrade.
