Bluesky improves notifications with activity alerts, new notification controls, and more

Bluesky users now have access to several updates that improve how notifications are managed. The social media platform has introduced activity notifications, which let users receive both push and in-app alerts from specific accounts they are interested in. This change addresses the need for timely updates from favorite profiles, helping followers keep up with breaking news and live events.

Alongside this update, Bluesky has added enhanced notification settings. With this feature, users gain granular control over the types and sources of notifications they receive. It is now possible to enable or disable push notifications for categories such as likes, replies, mentions, reposts, quotes, or new followers. These options allow for a more tailored notification experience, reducing unwanted interruptions.

Following these changes, repost notifications have also been improved. Users can now opt to receive alerts when someone likes or reposts content they have previously reposted. Settings for this notification type can be adjusted to receive alerts from everyone, just the accounts you follow, or turned off entirely.
