Telegram adds channel direct messaging, topic tabs, voice message trimming, and HD photos
Telegram's latest update introduces direct messaging to channels, enabling users to communicate privately with channel owners and admins. Alongside this, group topics now feature a tabbed layout, allowing faster access from the chat list and quick switching between conversations in a single tap.
With this update, users can now trim voice messages by adjusting the start and end points, targeting the exact audio fragment to share without re-recording. The update also adds a High Definition quality setting for photos, offering images with four times the pixel count while keeping data usage under 0.5 megabytes per picture.
For those using polls in groups or channels, the new release expands support to up to 12 poll options. Polls can be sent to your saved messages, letting users bookmark results or forward polls to other chats later. On iOS, Telegram now lets users share media directly to stories from other apps through the standard system share button. These enhancements collectively improve user interaction, media sharing quality, and group management across the Telegram messaging platform.
