Ink/Stitch 3.2 adds more fonts and lettering features for embroidery design in Inkscape

Ink/Stitch 3.2 brings several enhancements to this open-source embroidery design platform based on Inkscape. This release focuses heavily on font support, offering new options in the text tool that streamline color sorting and multi-line alignment for multicolor fonts. Users can now process left-handed fonts, supporting languages such as Arabic and Hebrew, broadening creative and linguistic flexibility.

In addition to these font enhancements, Batch Lettering enables users to efficiently generate multiple embroidery files using a single motif but with varying text, simplifying mass production workflows. This streamlines repetitive design tasks and serves users who create personalized items at scale.

Additionally, the software now offers 21 newly digitized fonts. These fonts are fully compatible with recent platform features, providing designers even more creative options. Font authors also benefit from the new Edit JSON extension, which allows real-time editing of kerning and other font settings with an immediate live preview.

Lastly, changes to fills and satin stitches now mean that start and end points are automatically set to the closest elements, making routing and object management more efficient. Moreover, semi-automated conversion tools further help users transition designs from fill to satin stitch types.
