Self-hosted forge software Forgejo releases v11.0 with new features and enhancements
Forgejo, an open source and self-hosted lightweight software forge, has released its version 11.0, bringing a series of enhancements and bug fixes. This update introduces several new features, including an overview of quotas in the user interface and the ability to regenerate access tokens.
The user dashboard now displays a customizable welcome screen when there’s no activity in the feed, allowing instance admins to tailor the experience. Maintainers can now see if a pull request is editable, and several boolean operators have been added for issue searching with an indexer. Additionally, Danish language support has been introduced.
Forgejo v11.0's container images are built from the latest Alpine 3.21 patch release, incorporating Git 2.47, GnuPG 2.4, SQLite 3.48, and OpenSSH 9.9. As the second Long Term Support (LTS) release, it follows v7.0, offering a stable option for instances that prioritize reliability over the quarterly release of new features. Forgejo v7.0 will continue to receive support until July 16, 2025, providing a transition period for admins to upgrade at their convenience.
