Linwood Butterfly's latest update adds note passwords, better navigation and barcode tools
Linwood has introduced the Butterfly Adonis Blue update, a major release that brings an array of new features and usability enhancements to Linwood Butterfly, an open source and cross-platform note-taking app. Among the highlights is the ability to set passwords for notes, delivering much-needed data security for users looking to protect their information. Mobile users will notice a redesigned home page that now uses tabs, making navigation quicker and more intuitive. The update also adds robust barcode generation features, enabling the creation of QR codes, data matrix codes, and code 128 barcodes directly within the app.
The visual editing experience has been improved, with new options to flip images horizontally or vertically and convert them to grayscale. Platform support has been expanded through Linux ARM binaries and a new Docker image for the web version, while the minimum Android version requirement is now 6.0. Advanced workflows see enhancements as well: users can now lock editing to specific layers, import SVG files as text, and take advantage of updated collaboration tools and a reworked settings interface that allows for settings import and export.
These updates collectively make Linwood Butterfly more secure, flexible, and powerful for both everyday and advanced users alike.
