Introducing Hana: Spline's new interactive 2D design tool for dynamic content creation

3D design platform Spline has announced Hana, a new tool for interactive design. Built from scratch with a focus on performance, Hana offers a real-time canvas for designing and animating interactive 2D experiences. It allows for the creation of rich, state-based content that responds dynamically within an infinite canvas. Hana's render engine processes vector data in real-time, providing modern vector network editing, state-based transitions, and GPU-accelerated effects in a collaborative, browser-native environment.

Hana simplifies the creation process with playable components called frames, which act independently within the editor. This eliminates the need for a separate Animate mode, allowing users to interact with their designs directly. Frames can be exported individually as live URLs or images, with more options planned for the future. Hana also leverages Spline's 3D editor real-time collaboration system, enabling teams to work efficiently and stay synchronized.

Similar to Spline's 3D editor, Hana allows for the generation of live interactive links from any frame, optimized for embedding into production environments. This ensures that designs maintain their quality from the editor to deployment.
