Calibre 8.2 released with improved support for Tolino firmware & Kindle driver, and more
Calibre has released version 8.2 of its e-book management software, featuring enhancements and bug fixes. Notable updates include improved support for the latest Tolino firmware via the Kobo driver, allowing seamless integration with Tolino devices. The Kindle driver now supports marking all books sent to the device as personal documents using the * value in MOBI Output preferences.
Bug fixes address issues such as correct application of hyphenation and extra CSS in KEPUB files via the Kobo driver. The e-book viewer now displays error messages for invalid nearby search expressions, and a long-standing bug in the quick view related to column syncing has been resolved.
Mac users benefit from fixes for opening book folders or PDF files with square brackets in titles, and a regression issue from version 8.1 affecting annotation updates in the e-book viewer. Additionally, an issue with KEPUB Output concerning HTML files without encoding declarations has been corrected, preventing garbled text. Lastly, an error when clicking format links in the book details panel has also been fixed.
