Garuda Linux “Broadwing” launches with new Rani app, Mokka edition, and more enhancements
Garuda, the Arch-based Linux distribution, has unveiled its latest version, “Broadwing,” built on the Linux kernel 6.13. This update includes several enhancements, notably the introduction of Garuda Rani, a new application aimed at streamlining and enhancing the Garuda Linux experience. Rani, which stands for “Reliable Assistant for Native Installations,” consolidates the functions of the Welcome, Gamer, and Assistant apps into a centralized hub for system management and customization tasks.
Additionally, the release debuts Garuda Mokka, a new edition featuring a Catppuccin-themed KDE Plasma experience. The update also focuses on refining various aspects of the Garuda Linux experience, enhancing overall stability and polish. Enhancements have been made to Chaotic-AUR 4.0, as well as to the Dr460nized, Hyprland, i3, and Sway editions. Furthermore, the Garuda website and forum have been completely redesigned, offering a refreshed user interface.
