WordPress has updated its local development platform Studio with new Preview Site features
WordPress has released an update to its Studio platform, enhancing its local development capabilities. The update rebrands Demo Sites to Preview Sites, offering improved support for local development and simplifying project sharing. Storage capacity for Preview Sites has been increased from 250 MB to 2 GB, accommodating larger themes and more media assets. Additionally, users can now create up to 10 Preview Sites simultaneously, up from the previous limit of 5, allowing for better project management and testing flexibility.
A new URL structure has been introduced, featuring user-specific URLs that enhance link sharing by beginning with the user's username and eliminating random words. Preview Sites remain accessible for seven days post-update, hosted on WordPress.com, providing a publicly accessible URL for client and colleague collaboration. The transition from Demo Sites to Preview Sites should be seamless, with existing sites automatically converting to the new system. These enhancements are now available to all Studio by WordPress users.
