Tails 6.12 fixes critical security issues in Tor circuits and Persistent Storage

Tails has released version 6.12 of its privacy-focused, Linux-based operating system, addressing significant security vulnerabilities. This update specifically prevents attackers from monitoring Tor circuits, a risk present in Tails 6.11 and earlier versions, which could lead to potential deanonymization through exploited vulnerabilities in Onion Circuits and the Tor Browser wrapper.

Furthermore, Tails 6.12 enhances security by blocking unauthorized changes to the Persistent Storage settings. The update also includes software upgrades, featuring Tor Browser 14.0.5 and Thunderbird 128.6.0 ESR.

New user interface features have been introduced, such as a button in the About Tails utility for checking upgrades and a new keyboard shortcut, Ctrl+Alt+T, for opening a terminal. The release also incorporates several bug fixes to improve system stability and performance.
