Steam now warns you about early access games that haven't been updated in over a year
SteamDB, a resource for insights into the Steam platform, has disclosed on Bluesky that Steam now includes a warning for early access games that haven't been updated in over a year. Steam's early access program allows users to engage with games in development and support ambitious projects. However, some games remain unfinished, stuck in a perpetual alpha state, with developers disappearing without completing them.
Valve has introduced a notification on early access game store pages, alerting users if it’s been over 12 months since the last update, suggesting potential abandonment. Although SteamDB's web browser extension already provides last update information for all games, this new native feature enhances transparency for Steam users.
An example of this feature can be seen on the store page for the early access game Cavern Kings, which has not been updated in eight years, and is clearly abandoned.

But it's still not entirely successful. The developer is replaced by any file (txt) and the days will resist
pretty sure the reviews would explode with negative feedback if something like that happens...
Not everyone reads reviews, not everyone will write about it and not everyone will look at it
Better than nothing.
