KDE Plasma 6.3 improves fractional scaling, system monitoring, panel cloning and much more

The KDE team has released KDE Plasma 6.3, the latest minor update to its desktop environment for Linux and BSD users. This version introduces significant changes, including a redesigned system settings page for drawing tablets, which is now split into multiple tabs with added configuration options.

KDE Plasma 6.3 also features an overhaul of fractional scaling, with KWin enhancing the alignment to the screen's pixel grid for sharper images and reduced visual gaps. The Night Light feature now delivers more accurate screen colors, with or without ICC profiles, and KWin allows users to select screen color accuracy, though this may impact performance.

The System Monitor provides more precise CPU usage readings while using fewer resources, and the Info Center now displays comprehensive data about GPUs and battery cycle counts. A new service detects app terminations due to memory shortages. Enhancements are also made to KRunner, Discover, and the Weather Report widget.

Customization options see an update with the ability to clone panels. Additionally, KDE Plasma 6.3 includes usability improvements, enhanced printer monitoring, an improved menu editor, and various other enhancements and bug fixes for improved stability and user experience.

With theses fractional scaling fixes, it looks very slick now. Fractional scaling doesn't seem the part but is very hard to get it right (given how things doesn't look the same as it's computed). There is also a bunch of bugs fixed and many improvement hover earlier KDE version which may this 6.3 certainly one of the best version of theses last years. Kudos to KDE teams and contributors!
