Cybersecurity-focused Linux distro Parrot releases v6.3 with new tools & software updates

Parrot Security has unveiled version 6.3 of its Linux distribution, tailored for cybersecurity professionals. This release is built on the Linux kernel 6.11.5 and integrates numerous software updates, including airgeddon 11.40, NetExec 1.3.0, Maltego 4.8.1, Metasploit 6.4.43, sqlmap 1.8.12, ZAP 2.15.0, sherlock 0.15.0, Seclists 2024.4, enum4linux 1.3.4, BloodHound 1.7.2, theHarvester 4.6.0, Burp Suite 2024.10.1.1, and Wireshark 4.0.17.

New tools introduced in this version are Caido 0.44.1, designed for web app auditing, and SecLists-lite 2024.4, a resource for security assessments. Updates to parrot-core and base-files address fixes for $PATH environment variables, and the Firefox launcher display issue has been resolved. Additionally, a previous bug affecting .ova virtual images in VirtualBox from version 6.2 has been corrected. The release also supports Raspberry Pi devices with the Linux kernel 6.6.62 and includes updated libraries alongside other minor enhancements.
