Telegram adds support for secure passkey login, gift purchase offers, and audio in stories
Telegram’s new update introduces passkey support, allowing users to log in instantly using a PIN or biometric data like Face ID or fingerprints instead of an SMS code. The encrypted keys for these passkeys are stored securely on your device and can be synced with password management apps such as iCloud and Google, offering a secure and streamlined login experience.
Building on user protection and convenience, Telegram now enables users to make gift purchase offers directly from a profile. Buyers can propose a price and set a time limit when making an offer using either stars or TON currency. Throughout the offer period, payments are securely reserved, and if the offer is declined or expires, the full amount is refunded instantly. This system is designed to keep both buyers and gift owners safe from scams during direct sales within the platform.
Alongside these improvements, Telegram users posting stories gain the ability to quickly add audio tracks from their profile playlists. This update streamlines media sharing for story creators, making their content more engaging and customizable.
