Quad9 to end DNS-over-HTTPS HTTP/1.1 support by December 2025

Quad9 has announced it will discontinue DNS-over-HTTPS support via HTTP/1.1 on December 15, 2025. Most users running Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or up-to-date operating systems are not expected to be affected. However, legacy devices such as MikroTik routers that rely on HTTP/1.1 for DNS-over-HTTPS may need upgrades or protocol changes. The update will allow Quad9 to roll out newer protocol support and continue platform modernization.
