kitshn 2.0 released with Tandoor v2 support, Material 3 Expressive UI, and social import
kitshn 2.0 has been released as the latest verson of this free and open source unofficial Tandoor Recipes client for Android, iOS, and Linux. This update brings support for Tandoor v2, enabling users to connect with the latest version of the Tandoor platform. In addition, the app introduces new AI-driven features, including import and activity functions.
Alongside backend improvements, the user interface has been overhauled using the Material 3 Expressive design system. This change brings fresh visual components and more haptic feedback throughout the app, improving the interaction experience across supported devices. Following these design upgrades, kitshn 2.0 launches a social media import tool, allowing users to import recipe content from Instagram and TikTok.
Additionally, kitshn users now benefit from timer range detection and the ability to create new timers directly within the app (iOS only). For Linux enthusiasts, the release adds an experimental Flatpak version, making installation easier across distributions. Rounding out the update, this version addresses numerous bugs and applies minor improvements for increased stability and usability.
