Coinbase introduces stock trading, prediction markets, Solana tokens, new Base app & more
Coinbase has launched a range of new features to integrate traditional and digital finance within its platform. U.S. users can now access stock trading, allowing them to buy, sell, and manage leading stocks and ETFs alongside their existing cryptocurrency holdings. This functionality supports transactions in both U.S. dollars and USD Coin, all managed within a unified Coinbase account.
In addition, Coinbase is rolling out prediction markets for U.S. customers, enabling trading based on the outcomes of real-world events such as elections, sports, collectibles, and economic indicators. These event contracts are priced by the actions of market participants, with Kalshi providing the initial market flow. Building on trading capabilities, users will soon benefit from expanded decentralized exchange integration that offers access to Solana blockchain tokens. This update lets users trade millions of new assets from the moment they launch, leveraging Solana’s high-speed and cost-efficient infrastructure.
Alongside these trading upgrades, the Coinbase app introduces a streamlined experience for futures and perpetual futures trading. Businesses in the United States and Singapore now have access to Coinbase Business, a crypto-first platform for startups and small enterprises. The platform also features the new Coinbase Advisor, an AI-powered tool for financial management, and the “everything” Base app, which is now available in more than 140 countries.
