Wine 10.19 adds support for reparse points, expanded WinRT exceptions, and JS typed arrays

Wine 10.19 has been released as the latest update to this compatibility layer for running Windows applications and games on Linux, macOS, and BSD. This release makes several core improvements for users running a range of Windows programs across POSIX-compliant systems.

The update introduces support for reparse points, a critical Windows filesystem feature needed by many modern applications. Alongside this, Wine 10.19 enhances compatibility with Universal Windows Platform applications by expanding support for Windows Runtime (WinRT) exceptions. These changes improve the ability of Wine to run both legacy and current Windows software.

Building on compatibility improvements, the Common Controls library receives a major refactor to reflect the separation between versions 5 and 6, improving support for modern graphical user interfaces. Additionally, the JavaScript engine now adds support for typed arrays, resulting in improved web and hybrid app functionality.

Following these technical upgrades, Wine 10.19 also addresses 34 bugs impacting widely used software and games. Fixes target programs like the Lynx web browser, Horizon Zero Dawn, foobar2000, Microsoft Office 2007, Starcraft, Baldur's Gate 3, and many others, contributing to a more stable experience for end-users.
