Grand Theft Auto VI is being delayed again, now set to launch on November 19, 2026

Grand Theft Auto VI is now set to launch on November 19, 2026, following another delay that pushes the anticipated title back from its previous May 2026 date. This marks the second major shift for the release, which was initially slated for fall 2025.

Rockstar Games addressed the change by stating that the delay will give the development team additional time to achieve the level of polish expected by fans. The company said, “We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.”

Following the new timeline, Rockstar thanked its community for their patience, highlighting its excitement about the new setting in the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to Vice City. Grand Theft Auto VI will take place in modern-day Vice City and feature two main protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. The game is a sequel to 2013's Grand Theft Auto V. While anticipation has grown over the years, the project has faced several controversies, including a significant 2022 leak revealing a female protagonist and ongoing allegations of union busting at Rockstar Games in the UK.

This is a distraction. It's union busting that caused this, not whatever excuse they're using now.

Unionizers are asking for troubles by created union dedicated to one game only. There is already an official union for Video Game workers in the UK, and nobody is forbidden to join it. They just wanted to create a union within a union. The UK also has one of the strictest labor laws on the book. If unionizers are going to push it, the company just will move to another country. No company, even a liberal one, will tolerate multiple unions on top of each other if they can move. I understand that people think they have the right to unionize to the nth degree, but employers are going to push back. And with the digital economy highly mobile, employers have a decisive advantage. People may not like it, but that what's going to happen.
