Chrome can now autofill your passport number, driver's license details, and vehicle info
Chrome has expanded its autofill functionality for desktop users, now allowing automatic completion of forms with sensitive data such as passport number, driver’s license details, and vehicle information including license plates and VINs. This enhancement is available to users who have enabled enhanced autofill.
Alongside these data type expansions, Chrome now interprets and fills complex web forms more accurately, adapting to diverse formatting standards found across the internet. This aims to reduce manual input even on less standardized websites.
To address privacy and security, Google has built enhanced autofill with several safeguards. Any sensitive information entered is stored only with explicit user consent, protected by encryption. Before Chrome fills any saved personal data, users will be prompted to confirm, maintaining direct control over their information.
These updates are being released globally for all supported languages. Google has announced plans to add support for additional data types in future updates.

Oh yeah, lets put the most sensitive info right into googles spyware AI browser just as malicious prompt injection is becoming more of a problem. All thats missing is a place to store your SSN. What could go wrong?
Given how easy to create form with invisible input fields, that most people don't read confirmation message, and since theses kind of data cannot be changed in any way, is it really worth the risk of leaking very personal information to save some few seconds completing a form?
No thanks, that information belongs in a password manager.
