Bottles 60.0 brings native Wayland support, new registry rules & fixed Steam Deck controls

Bottles 60.0 introduces several core improvements, starting with a native Wayland option now available directly in the settings. Users benefit from increased privacy as user tracking has been removed, and EasyTerm has been upgraded to version 1.0 for a more robust terminal experience. In addition, users can now change repository URLs using the user interface, while a new registry rules system supports reusable prefix policies, giving advanced users greater control.

Building on management enhancements, this version brings the ability to spawn processes with Winebridge for deeper integration and simplifies updating runners and DVXK. The new release also enables users to inherit only selected system environment variables per bottle, offering more precise configuration. Addressing prior usability gaps, Bottles now suggests how to install missing Flatpak extensions, and the journal browser has been re-introduced while cache management is incorporated into the preferences view.

Following a series of bug fixes, Steam Deck controls now work as expected in gaming mode and the working directory setting persists reliably between app launches. Rounding out usability improvements, the DLL Components interface has been aligned with the Runners UI, a new bottle creation dialog and improved logging for installers are included, and user consent is now required before updating Winebridge. Additional enhancements and fixes complete the update.
