WordPress Studio 1.60 introduces Blueprints for easier and faster local site development
Automattic has updated WordPress Studio, its free and open source local WordPress development tool, to include support for blueprints, starting in version 1.60. With this update, users no longer have to start each new site from scratch. The new blueprint feature lets you predefine a preferred WordPress configuration once and then reuse it, streamlining site creation for both individuals and teams who rely on a standard scaffold.
Expanding the workflow, Studio now enables users to either build sites from their own custom blueprint or quickly launch new projects from a curated set. These blueprints function as lightweight JSON “recipes”, specifying WordPress versions, plugins, and settings to reconstruct the same environment on demand.
For immediate use, Studio 1.60 includes three featured blueprints: quick start, a setup designed for development focused on theme and plugin work, and a commerce blueprint leveraging WooCommerce and related plugins. Adopting blueprints provides speed and consistency, making repeated site launches or team-wide standards much more manageable.
