Cursor 1.7 adds prompt autocomplete, agent Hooks, team rules, shareable deeplinks and more
Cursor 1.7 introduces several productivity enhancements to its AI-powered code editor. Users writing prompts now benefit from autocomplete suggestions based on recent changes in the editor. Accepting these suggestions with Tab also enables quick attachment of relevant files, streamlining the workflow.
Building on automation capabilities, the new Hooks feature lets users observe, control, and extend the Agent loop with custom scripts. This allows real-time auditing of Agent activity, the ability to block specific commands, or redaction of sensitive information from the context. Although Hooks are currently in beta, they open up advanced customization options for technical users.
For teams, the update supports the definition and sharing of global rules across all projects directly from the dashboard. These rules integrate with Bugbot to maintain behavioral consistency across repositories. Teams additionally benefit from the ability to generate shareable deep links for reusable prompts, aiding documentation and resource sharing, with this feature also in beta.
Following these core changes, users can now quickly check Cursor Agent status directly from the menubar. The Agent also expands its capabilities to read image files from the workspace to include them in context, moving beyond previously supported pasted images.
