Telegram now lets you move gifts to the blockchain, send them to channels, and more
Telegram has rolled out its second update for January, introducing six new features centered around collectible gifts. Users can now use upgraded gifts as a unique emoji status. These gifts, like collectible usernames and numbers, are transferable and can be auctioned via the TON blockchain, ensuring permanent control even if a Telegram account is lost or deleted.
The update also allows users to send gifts to channels, which can be displayed on the channel's profile to celebrate holidays and achievements. Collectible gifts can be showcased in stories with an animated preview, highlighting rare artwork and lucky numbers. Additionally, the Gifts tab on channel profiles now includes filters to sort gifts by value, collectible status, reception date, and collection type.
