Opera enhances Aria AI to understand and generate video, audio, text and spreadsheet files

Opera has announced enhancements to its built-in browser AI, Aria. The update expands Aria's capabilities to include understanding and generating files beyond images. Users can now upload up to three files of various types, such as video, audio, text, PDF, and spreadsheet, for Aria to read and use as context for prompts. This feature allows Aria to provide insights based on the uploaded files, though a prompt is still required.

Uploaded files are retained for a month if users are logged into their Opera account, and for 48 hours if using Aria without an account. Additionally, Aria now supports generating output that can be saved as a text file, giving users the option to download this output. These features enhance user interaction with Aria, offering new ways to utilize the AI within the browser environment.
