OpenSUSE Tumbleweed December update brings Linux 6.12 kernel and many software upgrades

OpenSUSE has rolled out its December update for the Tumbleweed Linux distribution, incorporating the Linux 6.12.6 kernel. This release brings numerous package and software updates, including KDE Gear 24.12 and KDE Frameworks 6.9.0. Notable updates include SQLite 3.47.1 and 3.47.2, which feature innovative query capabilities and critical security patches.

The update includes GPG 2.5.2, curl 8.11.1, Flatpak 1.15.12, and systemd 256.9 and 256.10. Additionally, LLVM 19.1.5 and 19.1.6, QEMU 9.2.0, GStreamer 1.24.10, Vim 9.1.0908, libzypp 17.35.15, gedit 48.1, and AppStream 1.0.4 are also part of this release. The Kernel-firmware 20241128 update introduces significant enhancements, including i915 Xe2LPD DMC v2.24, new firmware for Dell laptops, and multiple AMD GPU updates. It also adds new aliases for kernel 6.13-rc1 and improves support for AMD GPUs and iwlwifi, among other devices.
