Linkwarden 2.9 released with AI tagging, theme customization, browser extension, and more

Linkwarden has released version 2.9 of its open-source collaborative bookmark manager, following the introduction of version 2.8 a few months ago. This update brings several new features, including local AI tagging, which automatically tags links based on content using a local AI model. Users can choose to auto-generate tags or use predefined tags for this purpose, with the feature being optional and configurable in the settings.

Additionally, users can now customize the theme of their Linkwarden account by selecting from predefined color options. A new feature addresses issues with websites that block bot access by allowing users to capture articles directly from their browser via the Linkwarden extension for Chrome and Firefox, and upload them to Linkwarden.

Linkwarden 2.9 also introduces the ability to view available preserved formats for each link and offers a new option to import links from Omnivore. Public collections now come with an RSS feed link for easy subscription, and Linkwarden supports subscribing to RSS feeds. This version also includes updated translations, various enhancements, and bug fixes.
