RawTherapee 5.11 released with HiDPI support, extanded compatibility and many improvements

RawTherapee, a widely-used cross-platform RAW image processing software, has released version 5.11, introducing numerous enhancements. This update includes expanded path template format specifiers for queue export, with a preview feature for selected image paths. The maximum zoom in the editor is now configurable, and pseudo HiDPI has been replaced with real HiDPI support.

The file browser now has an option to display all images within subfolders. For DNGs with embedded DCP, the “Use embedded” option for the Input Profile is available. The Color appearance sub-tool in Selective Editing has been improved, featuring a simplified basic mode, new tone mappers for Cam16, a black and white mode, and a highlight attenuation feature. The White balance Tint range has been expanded, and Contrast by Detail Levels can be used in Before Black-and-White mode, while Color Appearance & Lighting is activated with CAM16.

Ratings and color labels can now be synchronized with XMPs. The Selective Editing tool has received various updates, including a global mode for uniform edits, ΔE preview buttons for most sub-tools, and adjustable graduated filter feathering. The EXIF modified date-time is now added to saved images.

RawTherapee 5.11 can read 12-bit Panasonic raw files encoded in the v6 format (e.g., DC-GH5M2), v8 format (e.g., DC-GH6, DC-S5M2, DC-S5M2X), and Fujifilm lossy-compressed raw files. JPEG XL images are now supported, and there's a new option to use lens corrections from file metadata for compatible RAW images from Fujifilm, Olympus, and Sony, as well as embedded corrections in DNGs.

Additionally, RawTherapee can leverage LibRaw (enabled by default) to read more raw formats, including Sony lossless compression, with improved support for certain cameras. This release also brings added and improved support for various cameras, RAW formats, and color profiles.
